01-07. All They Need

I finally took time to finish remodeling and furnishing the homes where my Côtes d'Ambonnay families lived. I had to make sure the pets and toddlers, as well as the adults, had everything they needed. That's four households of six sims each. I did renovations to each home--more construction on a couple of lots than on the others.

I've already shared check-in pictures for the Castle and Bay Watch families, and you can find those screenshots in past posts for this world. But here are a few pics of those two completed homes as of right now.

So now on to current reconstructions. After leaving the Bay Watch family, I switched over to the Lightkeepers. In the Mysterious Island world where these four families first started out, the Lightkeepers lived on a lighthouse lot, but now they live in a converted monastery--keepers of a different kind of light. Although, none of these sims are very serious-minded. In fact, a couple are genuine Party Animals. So much for a cloistered lifestyle!

And here are a few outtakes of the Lightkeeper family. They kept themselves occupied while I worked on their home, monitored their actions and made sure everything was set up correctly for them.

I next moved on to the last of my Story Progression households: the Inn Haven family. They now lived on a small farm with livestock, a garden, and a nectary machine.

01-06. Checking In With The Bay Watch Family

I had an update for my graphics card, so I opened my game to make sure everything was working all right (after fixing the options.ini file per NRaas instruction).

I decided it was time to say goodbye to the Castle family and move on to a new household. I left Aaron playing with his daughter, Lefay.

He also wanted to finish teaching her to walk.

The other three grownups were still watching TV, a romantic movie.

I chose the Bay Watch family for my next rotational check-in. Everyone was running around the world by themselves, except the toddler and the horse. Charlotte was heading for a garden on a paddle boat. In fact, all four grownups had bought themselves boats.

Even though they were involved in different activities, they were all hungry, and I had to make them find something to eat nearby--grilling and quick meals. Chris was playing an online social game at an empty pub.

Brigida was by herself, and I had to call a babysitter. The little tyke was also hungry and a little tired.

She headed for her toy box first thing.

Then the teen babysitter showed up wearing drab Medieval clothes and carrying a bright umbrella. The skies were still dark with rain and hail.

I didn't catch the sitter's name, but she was good with Brigida. I still told the household grownups to go home though. Derby the horse also needed some care.

I leveled some of the lot to make more usable space for Derby. I also built a small stall for him. In addition to the yard renovations, I knocked out a partial roof and rearranged the stairs on the second floor so that the middle room had access. It was totally closed off before.

Now the second floor has two bedrooms instead of one. I needed another double bed for the couples.

Clara and Daryl are Brigida's parents. They make a nice family.

Brigida survived her ghost beginnings and is now human, but for some reason, she still has lingering ghost sounds around her. I can't seem to completely convert her to a full human state. But she's doing fine otherwise.

The lighthouse style home has a special effects emitter in the top windowed tower: a strobe beacon that shows up after dark. I don't think it rotates, just flashes a bright green light.

01-05. Two More Outtakes From a Recent Check-In

This summer has been busy for me, but I did take a little time to do some game maintenance and check in with my sims. See Moving Sims Files Using The Symlink Method for how I moved my Sims game files to another location in order to free up space on one of my desktop drives.

These guys were relaxing when they were suppose to be studying handiness. They were watching Medieval TV. Notice the program is in black and white, no color back in those early times!

Someone gifted my sims a phone. Purely decorative. It never rings. Silent as the grave.

01-04. Outtakes in a New World

I just wanted to add a few screenshots I took while spending time renovating one of the household's home. The first two were extra shots of the enchanted park some of the residents visited the first day they arrived in the world of Côtes d'Ambonnay.

 The park was a beautiful place, hidden away in trees and shrubs.

Then the hail and rain started to fall. I found a tourist relaxing out by a derelict beach. Some fun!

The Mysterious Island Castle family had to adjust to a more modest home in Côtes d'Ambonnay.

While redecorating was going on, they studied handiness for appliance upgrades.

 Lefay worked on toddler skills in her new playpen.

 Dromio has the Handiness chip, so he started upgrading at once.

 And as the hail continued, Jacquelin found a cozy spot by the fire to read.

Amika and Guy chose to read outside in the bad weather.

01-03. Exploring Côtes d'Ambonnay

Today I installed a few mods having to do with routing fixes. I also installed NRaas Traffic. I still need to tune Traffic settings for the medieval world.

It's a little strange seeing the food truck parked beside 15th century slums. 


And what do you think would happen to Lotta if the medieval locals found her looking like this!


Or, how would Dromio explain his devil familiar? Do you think the Inquisitors would be fooled by his shiny sackcloth disguise? 


I spent a little time adding a few essentials to one of the houses. I still have a lot of decorating to do. But I'm going to try to keep it simple this time. The houses are smaller. That will help. And there's a lot more things to do in the world. If my sims want to be entertained, they can explore.


I used a save file to begin the world. It included a lot of NPCs that were already dressed in period clothing. This is the little papergirl. Isn't she cute in her costume?
