Lord Piers Wimsel is based on the fictional character Lord Peter Wimsey created by Dorothy L Sayers for her mystery series. Hera Vale is based on Harriet Vane, Lord Wimsey's love interest. 

Wimsey is described as being of average height, with straw-coloured hair, a beaked nose, and a vaguely foolish face. He also possessed considerable intelligence and athletic ability. ~Wikipedia

Vane, a mystery writer, initially meets Lord Peter Wimsey when she is on trial for poisoning her lover. The detective falls in love with her. She eventually returns his love and marries him. ~Wikipedia

The actor, Edward Petherbridge, played Lord Peter in some of the BBC TV shows. The actress, Harriet Walker, played Harriet Vane in the same shows. 

The Sims version: Piers and Hera.

Marvin Bunter, a warrior genie and Lord Piers' valet, is based on Sergeant Mervyn Bunter, played by Richard Morant. Bunter was Lord Peter's soldier-servant in WW1 and later his valet after the war.

Bunter is said to have helped rescue Lord Peter after he was buried alive when shell fire collapsed a dugout he was in and was credited with saving his life on several occasions both during and after the war. Bunter was also instrumental in helping his master recover from and cope with what was then called "shell shock" upon his return to civilian life.  ~Wikipedia

Sims version: Marvin Bunter.

There are other non-Sayers characters in the Rinn Fada household. Caprice Spritan came to the household as a wedding planner and became Bunter's girlfriend. She later served as a gardener and nanny.

Emad Faraz is Bunter's half-brother. He appeared in Rinn Fada without warning. Emad was a temporary member of the household.

Emad romanced and married Bebhinn Walsh, who became Bebhinn Faraz. She also temporarily joined the household. The Farazes live in Lost Cove now.

Hera and Piers had a daughter named Kathryn. Soon after that, Piers cloned himself and baby Davis joined the family, technically as a non-relative. But the Wimsels are raising Kathryn and Davis both as their own.

The two little dogs, Clouseau and Mulder, were born in Twinbrook to Miss Marple and Spade, dogs in the Riddle household. Piers adopted the two when they were puppies and brought them with him to Rinn Fada. Clouseau and Mulder are roommates now instead of active family members.

In this Sims story, Lord Piers has settled in Rinn Fada, Ireland, in an old estate to research new criminology techniques. Hera arrives as his research assistant and secretary. Bunter is Piers' valet and majordomo. Later in the story, Caprice joins the household, and Emad shows up unexpectedly soon after.
