04-07. Crime and Punishment?

So I switched back over to the Lightkeepers to see what had happened there. The first thing I remembered was that Charlotte has the Inappropriate trait. Not good! One of my other sims, Roy Thorn, is Inappropriate and he earned himself the Dirtbag reputation. I checked the household's stats.

There was no hiding the truth. Chris and Charlotte had both cheated--twice. Charlotte even had a Betrayal to her name. And she'd been caught. She had a Cheater reputation while Chris had no rep.
Jeremy and Charlotte's relationship had taken a big hit, but because they'd been so close before, it was still in the mid-green range. Plus, they are still going steady, Boyfriend/Girlfriend. And Chris is still Sophia's Boyfriend. No one had broken up.

Six sims now dislike Charlotte. Chris dislikes her the most. But from experience (with Roy), I think that if Chris and Charlotte's relationship ever hits green again, it will show them as Romantic Interests.
Chris was suffering from the Betrayal moodlet.
Jeremy was not. Neither was Sophia. Why? I'll probably never know.
Nevertheless, it's decision time. Rewards and consequences. Trevor and Grizelda got rewarded for good behavior!
The cheaters, Charlotte and Chris, will be punished. I'm just not sure how yet. I think Charlotte is mostly to blame, but I did personally see Chris walk up to Charlotte at the party and give her a kiss--all on his own. So, the two are both guilty.
My options:
  • Kill Charlotte and make her a ghost again. Match Jeremy with Sophia and leave Chris a haunted bachelor.
  • Kill Charlotte AND Chris and make them both ghosts. Match Jeremy with Sophia.
  • Keep Chris and Charlotte alive, but make them get married. Match Jeremy with Sophia.
  • Break up anything between Chris and Charlotte and hope for the best with the original couples.
  • Change Charlotte's Inappropriate trait and match her with Chris or keep her with Jeremy.

I could also just leave everyone be, but that's not fair to Jeremy and Sophia. This could go on forever. I know--because I've seen it all before.

Decisions, decisions ...

04-06. Moving Forward: An Engagement and a Birthday

Aaron took care of Lefay that first morning, getting to know her a little better. Jacquelin and Lefay were already Best Friends.
I did a little more in Stylist for Jacquelin and Amika. I gave them a period dress to wear everyday.

Guy and Aaron discussed what had happened to Jeremy. They both Expressed Sympathy for what their friend was going through.
Guy assured Aaron that he was only attracted to Amika. In fact, he was going to ask her to marry him!
Aaron was beginning to feel better after the wedding reception fiasco. He and his new family spent time together.
Meanwhile, Amika continued flirting with Guy. He hoped she never stepped over the line the way Charlotte had.
Guy decided this would be a good time to pop the question. They wouldn't get married right away, but at least they'd have a stronger bond with each other.
Guy: Will you marry me, Amika?
Amika: Yes!

I usually don't age my infants up right away. I like to see them become at least Friends with both parents, but Lefay was already Best Friends with her mother, and Aaron was getting along well with her. Since I needed to rotate back over to the Lightkeepers, I decided I would leave the castle with a toddler instead of a baby.
Lefay actually had hair when she aged up! Usually they come bald. But her outfit had to be changed of course. I gave her a quick trip into Stylist.
I couldn't get good pictures of Lefay in the yard, so here are a couple in the styling station. I changed her hairstyle and clothes.
She has her father's hair color and I think her mother's eye color. But I can see a little of both Aaron and Jacquelin in her facial features.
In the courtyard, Jacquelin the Loner suddenly was feeling overwhelmed again. The events of the night before were still fresh in her mind.
While the adults ate cake, Dromio took charge of Lefay. After playing with her, he put her in the playpen.
It didn't take long before her parents came back to her.

Lefay: Funny Daddy!
Aaron: Let's try a few steps so we can show Mama.
Jacquelin: I'm going to present Lefay to the Islanders.
Aaron: Oh, well, ok.

04-05. Party Outtakes and Random Shots

A few outtakes from the bachelor party.

Seeing how routing sims through bedrooms can cause problems, I made a small hallway that divides the ground floor bedroom from the circular staircase leading to the TV/playroom basement. The hall makes the bedroom a little smaller, but a lot more private. The area by the outside door and stairs is wasted space anyway.
During the bachelor party, it started hailing. All the guests ran inside the castle.
Bradley seemed a little standoffish during the celebrations. He spent most of the time by himself. Bradley's pretty much the only Rebel now, still holding out against all the Nerds. I think he's still hoping he can recruit Jeremy back to his Cause.
During the bachelor party, Aaron made another wish at the wishing well. I'm pretty sure most of his wishes are for wealth. He gets disappointed a lot! Happiness wishes usually succeed. But he did get a notice for his Faithful reputation. A little later, that changed to Eternally Faithful.

Just 4 random screenshots.

Some of the gnomes met together at the circular bench, probably discussing changes at the Castle.

This dragon sculpture was a wedding gift for Aaron and Jacquelin.
Guy and Amika took care of the garden and bees while Jacquelin was pregnant. Aaron was doing the cooking.
After all that drama at the wedding, the next morning I found Charlotte and Chris dancing together at the Arcane Guild. WTH is going on? Was that big scene just for entertainment? Just wait til I get my hands on those two! And what's up with Jeremy?

04-04. Heir to the Throne

We last left the wedding reception with Jacquelin in labor. I was in unknown territory here because there was no hospital on Mysterious Island, and I've never had a sim deliver a baby at home.
Aaron the Virtuoso finally stopped thinking about music, but was still no help of course!
Jacquelin looked at me with scared eyes!

Me: Jackie, I don't know what to do for you! Can you make it upstairs to the nursery?
Jacquelin: Noooo!!
Then Chris started yelling at Charlotte again while Jacquelin screamed in the background.
Charlotte: You have no right to tell me what to do! If I want to flirt with Guy, I'll do just that!

Guy once again disappeared from the scene. He went to the nursery to play his guitar.
Chris: But, I thought we had something special, Char ...
Charlotte: Well, you thought wrong!
I managed to get Jacquelin to move to the dais out of the middle of the party guests. And I had Aaron tell everyone to leave.
Look at all those sour expressions! Heaven only knows what kind of mess I'll be dealing with when I get back to the Lightkeepers household.
But now I was worried about Jacquelin. How long did home births last anyway? I was afraid she might be stuck in labor. Then, she gave one last groan.
And birthing lights appeared! Thank god.
Jacquelin had wished for a little girl. I didn't influence the birth gender in any way, but Jackie got her wish.
Lefay Chamberlin-Clark. Scorpio. Excitable and Friendly. She was named after Morgan Le Fay (Morgaine) from Mists of Avalon.
Queen Jacquelin and Princess Lefay take the Throne.
____

I love the self-satisfied look on Jacquelin's face. She was already friends with Lefay.
Aaron also spent some time with his daughter. He had a wish to hold her.
He gave Lefay her first bath too.
Guy came upstairs again with his guitar. He was happy. Charlotte's attention hadn't affected his Eternally Faithful rep. And during the reception, Aaron and Jacquelin also got Eternally Faithful reputations. But Aaron was still moody over the betrayal scene he'd witnessed.
Dromio the new RoboNanny got his hands on Lefay as soon as he could.
And then Lefay received another friend in the mail, a gift from a distant relative--arriving as if by magic. He's called Accolon, named after a character from the Arthurian legends.
Sweet dreams, Lefay.
