01-12. Enhanced Environments

I took a little time to make a few renovations to the Desert Camp where Krisalyn and her companions stayed. This is a camp already in the Al Medina world. I only made a few changes. I moved the horse hitching post so I'd have room for my sims' tent.

One of the townies brought a toddler to the site, his grandmother. She read her book, then went inside the shelter to sleep, leaving her grandson behind.
The poor little guy was completely ignored, and she left him outside alone. He soiled his diaper and got tired and hungry. My sims were already sleeping in the tent when I discovered this, so I used NRaas to Max his Motives. Then I gave him a toy box.
Here's the sleeping area of the camp. That's the toddler's vampire grandmother in the sleeping bag. I don't think she's much of a babysitter!
This is the bathroom. I was going to convert this into a dining area and put an all-in-one outside, but the floor was uneven and I couldn't fix it in order to add a table and chairs. Instead, I built a small basement underneath.
I just did a simple furnishing job to match the rest of the camp.
__________
I decided to add cows to Al Medina, but found they take up even more space than I thought they did.

There's a small lot called the Spice Merchant (consignment store) in Al Medina. It had a fake cardboard cow in a stall. I was going to put the store cows in there instead, but the area was way too small. You can see the cardboard cow in the background of this screenshot.
What I did, though, was put the cows on the Movie Studio lot directly behind the Spice Merchant.
There was plenty of room for it on that open lot.
Rome milked the cow, but that's all I had time to try. It's been awhile since I've had my sims work with the cows.

01-11. Early Random Screenshots

Just a few extra pics from the beginning of the Al Medina story.

A screenshot of the City Central Square.
A fixer-upper apartment building.
It's early game for Krisalyn here. The mascot comes to visit, but she ignores him. Wouldn't you?
__________
A couple of extra close-ups of Rome just after I created him.
Dark hair, grey eyes!
__________
"Play it again, Sam!"
Al Medina's townies spoil my Casablanca scene.
Rome: Now, Querida, you were saying?
Krisalyn: I ... want to hire you.
__________
Dodger senses that Ziri is a genie even though Krisalyn does not yet know this.

01-10. Houseboat Outtakes

I happened to see what looked like a ghost ship in Al Medina just as the sun rose over the horizon.
Here are a couple of outtakes of Rome and Krisalyn on the houseboat heading for Amazigh. Rome steers the boat.
And Krisalyn paints.
I did a little redecorating on the first floor of the houseboat. Added more sofa sections. This pic was taken before I put in the back doors though. I always seem to tweak my sims' houses as I play. Can't help it!
Krisalyn and Rome worked on their athletic skills. They need to be in shape for their trip since there will be a lot of digging for them to do!
I put new wallpaper in Rome's upstairs bathroom, but I muted and swirled the colors a bit for him.
The colors sort of echo the ones in his girly picture above his bed.
Behind the Scenes

So last night, I was dealing with a couple of stuck sims in Al Medina. I kept getting reset error messages about the same two townies, a married couple. I found them and put them in another house in hopes that would solve the issue. I think it did.

But while this was happening, I saw that Krisalyn had gotten up from her nap and was running for the bathroom! What on earth? She couldn't be pregnant. She hadn't even kissed the guy yet! And both she and Rome have Simmunity. How could she be sick?
Then I looked at her moodlets. She was seasick! Oh for the love of Pete! Simmunity doesn't take care of that? Apparently not. She needed the Strong Stomach reward. Just when I figured this out, I heard another moan and ... you guessed it. Rome was also waking up seasick!

Rome: Me muero! Call a doctor!
So dramatic! The Strong Stomach reward was only 2000 LT points, so I cured them.
__________

I liked this pic. Dodger has the Adventurous trait. He's looking out the window at the sea. I didn't know that "looking out the window" was an adventurous action. But Krisalyn was able to praise him for being adventurous when doing this. Makes sense.
Then Dodger got a wish to Guard the House, a Loyal action. I told him to go ahead, but instead of guarding the houseboat like I thought he would, he jumped into a taxi boat and headed back to Krisalyn's place! Second real estate lots don't count, I guess. Maybe Dodger was worried that the house had been left unprotected!
Early morning during a full moon. Krisalyn, Dodger, and Rome spent some time getting to know each other while I staged the next story chapter.
Dodger loves to be brushed.
He also enjoys playing with squeaky toys.
I made another change to the houseboat. I put in a back door (glass) going out from the kitchenette. And I added stairs across the back walkway, mainly so I could put in a shower out there for convenient use after gardening. They only had the one shower/bathtub combo upstairs.
Ever since Dodger got to sleep on the bed with Krisalyn, he thinks that's his spot. He's not going to be a happy camper when Rome kicks him out!
But Rome and Dodger actually get along great. Dodger follows Rome around all the time. They're buddies, sort of like Alpha Male and Sidekick.
Dodger does not like to see dirty dishes left out. He gets quite snarly about it!
