06-02. No Genies Were Harmed

Here are some outtakes from the fire scene between Bunter and Emad. This is to let you know two things. Bunter decided NOT to kill Emad. But Emad, evil gold-digger that he is, would gladly have killed Bunter.
_____
I started the fire for the story. Emad was thrilled with it, but he jumped out of the way immediately.
Bunter is a Brave sim, so he autonomously began to fight the fire. And Emad's a Daredevil. He should have helped, but he didn't lift a finger. He just looked up and pointed, "Isn't this awesome!" he told me.
Everyone else came running, even the dogs. They all stood around making racket: barking, cheering, yelling. Caprice had been painting and was projecting a creativity aura onto everyone.
Little Mulder couldn't get to the fire fast enough. He'd been off the property hunting. I noticed the game teleported him home so he could help guard the house. He looked eager.
No one called the fire department, and none of the firefighters bothered to show up. Instead of the fire engine, the Frosty Dreams van parked out front.
After Bunter managed to put out all the flames, I told Emad to clean the place up, genie style. Bunter rolled his eyes. "How's that fair?" he asked me.
But here's the kicker. Emad is a member of the household right now, not a townie. He and Bunter are really brothers, with a green-bar relationship. They're not exactly enemies, except for the story I created. But all on his own, Emad has decided that Bunter must die.

This is the NOT the first time he's wished to see his brother's ghost. Emad really does have an Evil plan in mind.

06-01. Aftermath and Matchmaking

When Bunter reappeared from dealing with Emad, he found Caprice leaving the pool area. He embraced her at once, inviting her to his room.

But despite Bunter's coaxing, Caprice told him she would sleep in her fairy house--alone. It was obvious he was not ready to talk. Besides, she was tired. The wedding party had lasted all night, and it was close to dawn.

She marched off by herself and quickly spun into her sprite form.

Even with all the excitement of the last few days, Caprice fell asleep easily. That last nightcap helped.
_____
Bunter decided he should check in with High Elder Walsh, report on his Kraken mission. He'd been tied up the past two days with the parties and had only called Walsh to briefly say the creature was no longer a threat.

Bunter: Your speedboat and diving gear have been returned to the harbor master, High Elder. There was no damage done to any of the equipment. And as far as the beast...well, I've closed up it's caves and tunnels. The creature itself has disappeared, bound for safer waters.
Walsh: You sure it won't return?

Bunter: There's always that possibility, of course. But its lair has been completely destroyed. There's really nothing for it here in Rinn Fada. And I was right about its shifting in size. Maintaining the larger shape drains its strength. I daresay it usually exists in a body more closely the length, or less, of a man.
Walsh: You've done an excellent job, Brother Bunter. I am recommending you for full membership in the Lodge. You've earned your Golden Amulet, my boy. We'll arrange a ceremony, but I know you've been busy on the home front as well, so I'll give you a few days to catch your breath.
Bunter: Thank you, sir. But if there are any more missions...
Walsh: Take it easy, lad. Rinn Fada is usually a fairly quiet place. Let's hope there aren't other dangerous assignments for a while! Go home. Spend some time with your young lady.
Bunter wished he could spend some cozy time with Caprice. He just didn't know how he'd be able to keep spinning yarns about himself. Covering up his past ... all the fighting ...his Djinn nature. He really was a bastard, in every sense of the word.

Not the kind of man a girl like Caprice deserved. He was only stealing time with her. That's all he could hope for. Sure, he felt guilty for leading her on, but he wasn't going to give her up ...not until he had to.
_____
Bunter and Caprice's romance might have been rocky at the moment, but Piers and Hera were closer than ever. Their relationship carried its own strength. They understood each other and enjoyed one another's company.
That's not to say their romance was only quiet contentment. They definitely found time for passion.
_____
It was a late morning for everyone. But Piers and Hera woke lighthearted and happy. They had a honeymoon to prepare for, household matters to discuss with Bunter and Caprice, and last minute research to be tidied up.
But the newlyweds found it difficult to stick to business. It was on the first day of their marriage that the folks in Rinn Fada decided that Lord and Lady Piers were a blessed couple. Eternally Faithful, no doubt about it.
Piers took charge of the treasure Emad Faraz had so generously gifted them. Piers would have to offer a more formal thank you to Faraz. Maybe he could arrange something for the man with one of his peer connections.
The bulk of the treasure was sold, but they kept the seashells and one of the cut gems as wedding mementos.
That morning, Bunter had silently gotten to work cleaning and clearing away clutter from the party. Piers felt some concern for his friend. Was Bunter worried about how the marriage would affect his place in the household? Piers thought he had reassured him on that matter.
Hera and Piers had discussed a few things about Caprice and had come to a couple of decisions, particularly in regard to her relationship with Bunter. She was good for him. Piers hoped the young woman would be agreeable to their plans, but he didn't want to push. He found Caprice alone in the garden room and spoke to her.
Piers: Hera and I have been quite impressed with your management of the wedding and home renovations. Outstanding work, Caprice. We couldn't have hoped for better.
Caprice: Thank you, M'Lord.
Piers: No, no. Just Piers. Bunter is the only one who continues in that formal way of his. ...Ahem, about Bunter. He seems to be terribly busy lately. Determined to bring in funds for the household, although it is in no way expected of him. I say, Caprice, do you think you could stick around a bit longer while Hera and I are away? Help with the garden and grounds? And, uh, keep Bunter company?
Caprice: Sir, I'm not sure what you're asking. About Marvin, I mean.
Piers: Well, without betraying any trust here, I can only say that Bunter is having some difficulty adjusting to Rinn Fada. He's been acting out of character lately. But he's a private sort, so it's not always easy to read him.
Caprice: He doesn't confide in you?
Piers: Very little, I'm afraid. ...So what do you say? Will you continue on at the manor, at least until we get back?
Caprice: All right, I'll stay. This is very kind of you, Piers. I never realized Marvin was such a loner. Poor man.
Piers (face reddening): Hmm, yes, that is ...quite.

05-20. Once a Beast, Always a Beast

This update goes back to the wedding party and explains why Bunter had disappeared once he'd left Caprice at the bar.
_____
Bunter hadn't been avoiding Caprice. She was wrong about that. He'd sat at that pool bar for ages, trying to romance her. She didn't respond to any of his advances, just kept pushing Big Mistake martinis on him. One Big Mistake after another.

He'd been smart enough to leave the Cherry Casanovas alone though. He'd had a couple of those earlier and look where that had gotten him. Good thing Hera had rescued him from Ruth.
And speaking of Ruth, Bunter vaguely remembered her talking to Emad too. Was that just a friendly exchange? Or were they plotting? Surely the two hadn't double-teamed him. Then again, with Emad, anything was possible.
Bunter decided to drag himself away from the bar and go looking for Emad. He might be just a little paranoid when it came to his brother, but he doubted it. Bunter needed to know what the louse had said to Caprice.
Meanwhile, Emad was feeling pleased with the progress he'd made so far. His fist-happy brother couldn't keep pushing him around without consequences. Emad had sent the ex-lover over to distract Majid while he whispered a few secrets in the ears of the little fairy.
Then he'd wandered down to the basement and practiced a bit of SimFu. Emad admitted he needed to toughen up some more. He wasn't surprised when Majid came looking for him. The kid had been drinking too, more pugnacious than usual.
The brothers went inside the manor, away from the center of the party. Bunter started in immediately.

Bunter: What did you say to Caprice? You've gotten her all upset!
Emad: I didn't upset her. You did. She saw you flirting with one of your other women.
Bunter: I don't have other women! Ruth and I were finished two--no--three romances ago!
Emad (laughing): You're stinking drunk, brother! Why don't you go talk to Caprice about all this.
Bunter (trying to regain his composure): I'm asking you for the last time, what did you say to Caprice?
Emad: Well, I did tell her the truth about us being brothers...half-brothers. Didn't mention your father though. Thought you might like to tackle that one yourself. ...Oh, and I shared our harem misadventure, told her how we'd been caught and locked into lamps.
Bunter: Damn it! She didn't need to know anything about that. Especially since it was your fault!
Emad: Let's not get into that again, little brother. A real man acknowledges his mistakes, don't you think?
Bunter: Don't lecture me, Kraken!
Emad (sighing): Majid, when are you going to get past the ancient history? Can't we just go on with our lives now? We've got a great setup here. Don't muck it up for us!
Bunter: Forget it, Emad. There hasn't been a "we" for 600 years. ...And I warned you, if you caused trouble, I'd kill you.
Emad: What, what are you doing?
Bunter: Just a little fire to assist your transition, Brother.
Emad: Noo!!

Fire and water surrounded the Djinn as they both summoned their separate powers.
Bunter grabbed Emad and pushed anger and fire through his hands. Emad fought, struggled...
...then diminished as Bunter held on.
At last, the fire genie stilled. He clasped red, slimy flesh in his hands.
Bunter carelessly tossed Emad's limp form into the aquarium next to him ...watched as it sank to the bottom of the tank.
Then he took time to relish his victory. He was satisfied with the night's work.
Bunter: Enjoy your new cave, Kraken. Do try to get along with the other beasties in there.
Bunter: Otherwise, it'll be a lonely life in the fish bowl for you ...brother.

05-19. Wimsel-Vale Wedding

The morning of the wedding, Bunter finished restoring the replacement car for Piers and Hera. Since Emad had already announced the treasure was a gift from him, Bunter offered the car as his gift, plus a honeymoon trip to an exotic locale--yet to be revealed.

Piers was glad to have his favorite model of car back. He invited Hera to join him in a pre-wedding make out session. The new car worked just as well as his previous roadster.

After some confusion among the guests about where the ceremony was to take place, Piers finally managed to pull Hera under the wedding arch. He was still amazed that SHE had actually proposed to HIM! Some men would find that embarrassing, but Piers was quite pleased Hera had wanted him so badly that she knelt down in a public park--wearing silk stockings and heels--and asked for his hand in marriage.

While everyone battled over washing dishes, Piers took a private moment to express some concerns to Bunter.

Piers: The ceremony went ok, didn't it, Bunter? I mean, after all that initial ruckus?
Bunter: Yes, M'Lord. Well done.
Piers: You think Hera was happy with how things turned out?
Bunter: Absolutely. Weddings always have some little hitch to them. Makes for good storytelling later.
Piers: Of course! Great for those little anecdotes one needs at parties.
Bunter: There you go, sir. The silver lining.
Piers: Right O!

Ruth: You do realize Vinnie is just Exploring his Options, Caprice. No matter who he's with. Don't take it personally, but he's about to drop you. I know him much better than you do. He's restless tonight.
Caprice: Why don't you go back to playing your piano and mind your own business!
Ruth: Well, don't say I didn't warn you.

Emad thinks: Here's a pretty little daisy. Wonder how much TLC Majid's been giving this lovely flower?

Caprice: So since the wedding season is almost over, I've decided to open a greenhouse and sell fresh produce during the colder months.
Emad: An excellent idea, my dear! I suppose Majid, I mean Marvin, is financing this endeavor?
Caprice: Oh no. This is just me. Marvin and I haven't discussed any future plans...yet.
Emad: I see. How odd. ...Why don't you and I take a little stroll. There are a few things I think you should know about your Marvin Bunter. First of all, his real name is Majid Bahador and...

Bunter watched as Caprice walked off arm in arm with his brother. He was about to follow when Ruth stepped up to him. She'd already been in the pool and was barely clothed. Memories flashed through his imagination. Then she started flirting with him.

Ruth: Vinnie, you're looking fine tonight!
Bunter: Uh, as are you, Ruth. Very fine.
Ruth: You know, I was just thinking about all the fun we used to have together. What a wild pair we were, right?

As dawn approached and guests finally began to leave, Caprice fixed herself a drink and went in search of Marvin. He'd been hiding from her again. Probably trying to think up another crazy story.

What would it be about this time? The harem adventure with Emad or his flirting with Ruth tonight?
