03-05. Paladin and Faith

I quickly discovered that even at child age, Faith has full genie powers. She can summon every kind of food imaginable, just like her father. I had her make her favorite dish, falafel.
When I realized she could actually ensorcel her Imaginary Friend, I was ecstatic! I could control Paladin for a few hours and give Faith some time for other things. And Paladin could be gaining skills himself.
The first thing I had Paladin do was try his hand at fishing. He enjoyed that even though it started to hail. But he didn't complain! He was happy catching his minnows.
The weird thing was that he was still invisible if I clicked off his panel icon or off Faith's. No one else in the family could see him, despite the fact that he was ensorceled and active.
But faith was able to spend time visiting with her parents without her IF bothering her. Emad shared some of his Mastermind Plot ideas for making money with Faith. She loved being in his confidence.
She also played a game of chess with her mother. I wanted family members to raise their logic skills. We needed to make that IF transformation potion!
But Emad was the one who had the most time to work at the chemistry table. I sent him over to the junkyard and science lab site. This was going to take awhile! When I saw Emad in the lab coat, I decided he looks good in white. I usually dress him in black, but I may have to make him a white outfit of some sort.
I was determined to get that potion though. As Emad managed to discover a couple of potions and raised his logic skill a point, I gave Bebhinn the Collector Helper reward. She had plenty of LT points to spare. We looked all over the islands and found two rainbow gems! Now if the IF Opportunity came up, Faith would be ready.
Unfortunately, things weren't going smoothly for Emad. It seems a Natural Born Performer and Daredevil just aren't quite the traits needed for a careful and diligent scientist! After being scorched, he preferred to chat with someone on his laptop. I sent him home for the day.
Meanwhile, I rearranged the playroom, and added a twin bed. When Paladin became real, he could either sleep here or in the bunk bed in Faith's room.
We'd also have an extra bed for a sleepover friend.
About that time, Emad got another wish to have a baby with Bebhinn. He sure is stubborn! I let him keep the wish just to placate him. Now he talks about babies all the time. I'm wondering if he just wants Bebhinn to have more time off from work. He sure loved having her at home when Faith was little.
Yes, I think Emad likes keeping the family close to him so he can have people to charm ... or scare. He enjoys being the center of everyone's attention. The bigger the audience, the better!
But he does seem proud of his genie daughter. He cheered when Faith ensorceled Paladin again.
Emad: That's my girl!
And then miracle of miracles! Faith got the opportunity to take a rainbow gem to the science lab. It cost the Farazes 4,500 simoleons, but Emad was more than happy to leave the chemistry table to Sam Beckett.
And so, Faith gave the potion to Paladin, who has already become one of her best friends.
The transformation!
And Paladin Faraz appeared in the flesh!
I took him immediately into CAS to chisel off some of the pudding. I also changed his hair color to make it not so wild. It's now black with bluish-purple highlights and tips.
Paladin was introduced to Faith's parents. He won Emad over with one of his funny stories.
Now he has one skill point in fishing and one in painting. I found a football in Paladin's inventory, a teddy bear and a book. I need to buy him a MultiTab and laptop too.
I also had him start working out. With Athletics as a trait, he was sure to like that. He had already been asking Faith to play catch with him.

03-04. The Faraz Foal

While Faith was aging up, the Farazes had another big event in their lives. One of the reasons I didn't want to grant Emad's baby wish at the time was because there was another couple who had been wanting a baby.

Shade and Luna had been holding on to wishes for a foal.
I've never had a foal born in game. One of my sims adopted a foal once, but I've never raised one from birth.
Shade and Luna met inside the horse stall.
The room darkened. Hay flew! Hearts rose!
And I heard the baby chimes. First try.
Shade looked proud of himself!
I needed some more room for the new horse, someplace mainly for sleeping. I wanted a covered stall area big enough for mom and baby to be together at night. So I installed a small lot next to the Faraz home and had Emad buy it as a second residence. There was only room for a 10x10 size lot though. It would have to do.
I tried to match the colors of the main home lot.
The stall is not closed in, but it's covered enough to keep most of the snow off the ground inside. Winters are short in my games anyway.
Shade went over to the new place on his own. Things seemed to work fine, but he did complain that there wasn't enough room to "Run Around."
But he was able to maneuver without a problem inside the stall. We immediately got a new horse gnome, which I sold for 1000 simoleons. If I kept all the horse gnomes that popped up, the entire home lot would be covered!
We took good care of Luna. She didn't show her pregnancy, but she did seem a little less active.

03-03. Faith's First Day

The day after Faith had her birthday, it was time to start school. The Lost Cove Nature School is a rough building that houses a small classroom (rabbit hole) for the few kids on the island.
Upstairs, is a bookstore (RH) and a comic book hobby shop. Comics are very popular in Lost Cove.
The school is just down the hill from the Faraz home. Easy to walk to, but a bus came by anyway, despite the bad island roads.
Faith was about to give a tea party with Paladin, her imaginary friend doll, when she was called away by the bus arriving. She gave Paladin a goodbye hug and set him on the patio.
I didn't think anything about her leaving him out. I should have put him back in her inventory! I forgot what happens next and I was not ready for this phase of the IF play.
The bus broke down before making it to the school. Faith had to walk the rest of the way.
Into the school RH she went. There are two other townie girls in Lost Cove. No boys her age. And there's one teen girl and 2 teen boys. Not counting service sims. Faith met both girls the first day. One friend came home with her.
The minute Faith got home and stepped into the house, the game camera zoomed up to the patio door being opened. Paladin marched in like he owned the place. Darn!

The IF is another reason I didn't want a second Faraz child. They already have one! He'll be a handful himself. I wanted to have a potion ready for him before he showed up, or at least have that process started.
Bebhinn was wondering who Faith was chatting with! It sure wasn't the visiting friend doing homework at the table.
Faith tried to do her own homework three times, and that annoying doll interrupted her each time.
Finally Faith got her work done and Paladin came over to ask for a pillow fight.
I checked Paladin's stats to make sure he wasn't going to cause other problems, but he was ok. He's a Pisces, just like Faith, and he has the Daredevil trait like Faith's father. He's also Athletic and has a Good Sense of Humor.
As soon as I can make him alive, they'll be best buddies. Right now, he's more a nuisance than anything else!
Look at the expression on Emad's face when he comes down the stairs and sees Faith pillow fighting with herself! The invisible doll is sort of fun at times. In small doses.
The kids went up to the playroom for a little while, then it was time for bed. Faith's schoolmate went home.
Faith checked under the bed for monsters. After seeing her live IF doll, who knows what else is around! Luckily the room was clear of creepy things.
Faith was exhausted and went right to sleep. Paladin sat in little doll form close by.
But first thing when Faith got up, he was there telling stories and jokes and laughing over gossip.
This is how I have Faith's room decorated at the moment. I needed bunk beds because I'm hoping to make Paladin real ASAP so I can control him. I suppose they can sleep in the same bedroom as children. Or I may put him in the downstairs part of the small tower, not much room there though.
Faith has a toy oven and a dance bar. I also bought her a Frisbee, laptop, and Multitab.
I gave Faith a second formal outfit. I wanted her to have a kimono. I also found a perfect hairstyle to go with it. I think she looks darling. Hot Pink is her favorite color.
Here's the back showing her fan tucked into the sash.
