01-04. Young Males, Equine and Human

One night, Abu got a wish to spend more time with the unicorn Ebon. He hadn't seen Ebon in a while, so he invited him to the lot. He's already BFFs with the unicorn, but still needs to befriend one more animal before Ebon will join the household.

Soon, a little wild horse showed up too. While Abu spent time with Ebon, Zanita welcomed the foal--a Shy, Untrained male.

I made a mistake the other day. Not wanting a lot of wild animals causing routing issues, I set NRaas Register to allow only one wild horse per world. Now I realize this little foal has no mother with him. I need to age him up or help him in another way, then change the setting to allow two wild horses in the future.

As dawn arrived and the unicorn disappeared, Abu continued to watch the foal over at the horse ranch, He soon was able to approach the young horse and get to know him better.

Kahlil finally read his last toddler book by himself. He would soon be ready to age up to childhood.

Datrum checked on the baby while Kahlil finished his book. Something kind of creepy about this plumbot's face.

Come one; come all! Kahlil is having a birthday.

Jahan felt the excitement, but had to remain upstairs. No cake for him. Since Datrum couldn't eat cake either, he went up to check on him.

Dad took Kahlil over to this spot for the aging up moment.

After the usual very-needed clothing change, here is Kahlil. Cheer up, Kahlil! You're going to love childhood.

Well, it's been a big day for everyone. With Mom and Datrum rushing off to work, Kahlil joined Dad and Jahan for a short nap in the rocking chairs.

01-03. A Doll and a Love Day Date

Back in Hidden Springs. Jahan's unknown uncle sent him a doll. That's two Imaginary Friend dolls in this family now. The family will have 4 kids instead of 2. In other recent games, I've placed these dolls in the parents' inventory because I didn't want to play IFs again--wasn't quite ready to annihilate them yet. But I've let Kahlil and Jahan keep their dolls, and I'll make them real ASAP. I have a storyline in mind. Can two Imaginary Friends fall in love?

This is Cara, Jahan's female IF. His brother Kahlil has a boy doll named Finnegan. Finnegan's going to be a prankster and rogue as he gets older. Cara will be the only girl child in the family--and the youngest--so a touch of the princess. Kahlil and Jahan will have a time of it dealing with Finnegan and watching out for Cara.

Abu broods. It's in his nature. He loves brooding. I think he has the soul of a poet. Maybe he should give up alchemy and start writing!

Sofia, the Hopeless Romantic, adores him. She soothes his moodiness with a hot-stones massage.

Abu the Genie is not the only wish-fulfilling choice in Hidden Springs now. Since I put some slot machines in the local dance club, I also placed the wishing well close by. Sims will need those lucky coins...and maybe a chance to have a wish or two granted.

Abu and Sofia took time off from the kids for a Love Day date. They were invited to a party. A couple of the guests kept arguing with each other. One Childish sim made faces at herself in the mirror. But Abu made a new friend.

At Mick's Karaoke. Sims' singing always makes me laugh. They're so dramatic.

Back home, Datrum was busy reading to Kahlil, and little Jahan needed a diaper change. Dad the Genie cleaned Jahan long-distance.

A round of drinks...not that there were many other townies to share with.

Even the stage was empty. That didn't stop sims from cheering for the those invisible entertainers. I hate this glitch!

Abu and Sofia left Mick's and tried their luck at the wishing well. Sofia wished to be wealthy, but scored nothing.

After 3 tries, Abu came up with one lucky coin.

Unfortunately, Sofia still scored zero.

The lucky coin was burning a hole in Abu's pocket, so they headed for the dance club. Abu won over §1,000.

They danced for a while before having to head home.

01-02. Wishing for Another Baby

Kahlil has just about mastered all his toddler skills and will be aging up soon, so Abu asks Sofia if they could try for another baby. She's a Hopeless Romantic, so enjoys the attention Abu lavishes on her. She agrees.

Sofia is an adult sim. I didn't hear any nursery chimes when they tried, but since you don't always get that clue, I wasn't sure whether their attempt succeeded. So they tried a few more times. They liked that!

Still not hearing any chimes, and worrying about Sofia's age, I did something kind of risky. I had Abu give Sofia a romantic massage. I learned the hard way with another couple that this type of massage will increase fertility...and the chance of twins. Abu would be happy about that, I suppose, but Sofia might not. Or me!

Several more baby tries. No chimes. But I decided the two of them had had enough fun in the boudoir for now. Time to just wait and see.

Then we got confirmation! Sofia was expecting. My sims always have the simmunity reward, so my gals never get morning sickness. I have to wait for the first little bulge to appear. Now the question is: did Sofia get pregnant BEFORE that massage or AFTER? Will I be dealing with twins in Hidden Springs?

Abu devotes his time to keeping Sofia happy, healthy, and comfortable.

He can't complain. He enjoys all these activities too.

Last day of Winter and another one of my not-so-smart ideas: throw a gift giving party. The place was a mad house. But everyone had a good time.

Oh that aching back! Time for a deep tissue massage and one more of Sofia's wishes is granted.

Abu drives Sofia up to the Old Mill Tea House. Beautiful surroundings. Elegant atmosphere. Breathtaking views.

Unfortunately I forgot that the last part of the trip has to be hiked. No roads! Poor Sofia. It's a long way up there!

By the time she makes it to the gate, her back is aching again.

But she agrees. The effort was worth it!

Back home, Abu and Sofia both take naps, then I let Sofia daydream in bed.

After some quiet time, the contractions begin!

They drive off to the hospital just to make sure everything will go smoothly. It's the Proper thing to do, says Sofia.

A short time later...and thank god...ONLY one little boy is born. They named him Jahan. As godparent, I gave him the Good and Brave traits. His older brother Kahlil has the Genius and Athletic traits. Neither boy seems to have inherited Abu's genie blood. But Kahlil is a Pyromaniac and Jahan is Immune to Fire.

01-01. Revisiting an Early Family

I visited the Miraj family in Hidden Springs. (Originally, their last name was Mumses-Martingale.) Sofia Martingale came from Appaloosa Plains. She's Cruz's mother. When I play premade sims I almost always change a couple of their traits. I try to keep the general feel of their personalities though.

So, in Sofia's case I changed her Snob trait to Proper. Her lifetime wish is to have a Bottomless Nectar Cellar. But she doesn't make the nectar, she shops for special blends. She also works part time as a Spa Receptionist. One day, she wants to own the place, but money is still tight right now especially with her nectar purchases.

Sofia loves to wear her formal clothes, though she's also an Equestrian and an expert horse woman.

Sofia's married to a genie I created, Abu, and they have a toddler son named Kahlil. Datrum is the family plumbot. And yes, Abu is Brooding. When you live as long as a genie does, you start to question all the things you've seen. Here, Abu sits by the side of a lonely, frosted hill and contemplates his existence.

Sofia plays the violin while Abu shakes off his moodiness with dancing. Kahlil sings to Finnegan, his Imaginary Friend, and Datrum rushes off to complete household chores.

Hidden Springs had a foggy Autumn day, but Abu went riding anyway. He is an Animal Lover. His lifetime wish is to Befriend a Unicorn.

Abu is a Family Oriented, stay-at-home dad in the Alchemy career.

He's always available for his son Kahlil, reading together, playing, teaching new skills.

When you have a genie for a father, you're also always magically clean!

The couple don't have a lot of time alone together, but they try to get away every now and then. They enjoy a little "slumming," as Sofia would say.

Abu and Sofia both are avid gardeners. Abu mainly grows plants for his elixirs. This is Viridie, their green dragon.

Abu also harvests honey from the community lot and collects gems for his elixir creation. Viridie helps summon gems for him too.

This is Zanita, the family horse, adored by all.

Zanita spends time across the street on the jumping course.

And let's not forget Datrum, the household's major-domo and nanny extraordinaire! He also works part time at the hospital as a candy striper (NRaas Careers).

Sofia discusses Matters of Etiquette with Datrum to assure that he understands Proper House Bot behavior.

Then Datrum sees a gnome kicked over in the yard. He carefully stands him back up...properly. So maybe he was listening to Sofia's instructions.

Oh, and there's Finnegan the Imaginary Friend Doll.
