Imaginary Friends: To Be or Not To Be

I don't totally hate Imaginary Friends. I do play them, quite a bit really. I've raised a couple of IFs to YAs. And some of my other families have the dolls now. They are annoying in walking-around doll form, though, so I turn them real asap. But then I have another child to raise! Sometimes I don't want all those kids to deal with, so I've transmuted a few to get rid of them. It's the easiest way.

Here are some screenshots of my Imaginary Friends who still exit!

Russ Weylor lives in Isla Paradiso with his grown up IF girlfriend (Poppet).

I've let Luis Malloy keep his doll Gleason. His family is in Sunset Valley.

Kahlil Miraj in Hidden Springs has an IF (Finnegan) who is now real.

And his younger brother Jahan also has a doll (Cara).

Angel is a young adult IF who married Brandon, a genie she freed from a lamp.

Angel's son Carlson is keeping his IF doll Dalmo of course.

Faith Faraz has an Imaginary Friend, Paladin, who is now child age and has been turned real through the Metamorphium potion.

Lefay Chamberlin-Clark, born on Mysterious Island and ported to Côtes d'Ambonnay, received an Imaginary Friend doll, who I named Accolon.

__________
I've had two Imaginary Friend dolls disappear from my games through glitches while in rotational play (Mysterious Island experiment.) I've also eliminated a few dolls myself after they first appeared.

I don't always kill Imaginary Friend dolls ...but when I do, I use the Philosopher's Stone!

02-01. Transmuting Imaginary Friends

This evening I checked on my Appaloosa Plains family for the first time since I added the new skin and eyes CC. I was happy to see that Garith and Brisha Weylor still looked like themselves, with just some subtle improvements in body textures and eye clarity.

Brisha was my first Sims 3 character and Garith was created right after her. I played them for a VERY long time ...on a life span extended even beyond Epic. They originally lived in Riverview until that world pretty much blew up in my face! But I managed to rescue not only the Weylor family, but all my other created sims from there.
_____
The Weylors moved to Appaloosa Plains. They live in the home lot on the right, but also own the lot next to it. When they kept a horse, he stayed over on the second lot.

Right before the move, Garith and Brisha had both aged up to Adults. They're still in the early days of that stage.

Garith started out as a Sculptor and reached level 10. He dabbled with inventing, and now he's a level 7 Inventor. He has earned his lifetime wish of Tinkerer.

Brisha reached level 10 in the Gardening career and also earned her lifetime wish of Perfect Garden. She's now level 7 in Nectar Making.

The Weylors only have two children at home now. Both their YA son Russ and daughter Ellen have moved to different towns. But Horton and Daffodil keep the couple busy. Garith and Brisha worked together to create these two little plantsims.

Brisha havested Horton, so he carries her genetics, and Garith harvested Daffodil, so she's a genetic clone of him.

Although the family horse moved away with Ellen, Marco the Cat and Fufu the dog still live with Brisha and Garith.

_____
The main thing I accomplished during this game session was getting rid of the two Imaginary Friend dolls that both Horton and Daffodil received. I had immediately put those dolls in the parents' inventories because I didn't want them in this family.

Checking Garith's and Brisha's lifetime points, I found they each had around 180,000! More than enough for a Philosopher's Stone. Neither one of these sims, though, had ever done anything with magic. So, I saved the game and hoped for the best. Then I told Garith to transmute the doll he was carrying.

Doll 1: Please!! I'll be good. I promise!
Garith: Sorry, but that's what all you IFs say!

He tried, but the doll just vanished! No gold. But at least it's gone! And Garith didn't turn himself into a gold statue.

It was Brisha's turn. She has the Lucky trait, so I was hoping she'd be ok. Garith looked like he was still trying to figure out what he'd done wrong. His Genius trait hadn't helped much!

Doll 2: Aww, now why you wanna do this thing, lady?
Brisha: I'm only shipping you back to that Big Toy Store in the Sky.

Brisha did it! The IF was gone and she had a nice bar of gold as a souvenir. Excellent work!

Brisha and Garith celebrated. (They're a loving couple, Eternally Faithful.)

02-09. Rebounds

Just a final word from Roaring Heights before I move on to other dramas!

David Morgan, as expected, is doing all right. He has now gone from Sad to Very Happy. And he's getting a lot of attention. First there's his daughter, the "love child." She doesn't mind him being a toad.

Nor does Samantha, the temptress who got him into this mess in the first place!

David loves all the flowers, but he isn't ready for romance yet. His poor heart is still broken; although it's hard to tell most of the time.

After Samantha left for work the next morning, David got another visitor. He was delighted to see her.

He really milked that visit for all he could get! The lady held his hand and comforted him twice. ...No, I wouldn't be too concerned about David.

How quickly sims take center stage in a drama! No matter how you try to direct their actions, they'll always out-think you. Even sweet little Donna did the unexpected. Oh yes, she and Olivier and the rest of the household are getting along just peachy.

But how would I ever have predicted this little scene?

And there you have it. From Roaring Heights, signing out...

02-08. The Morgan Affair

Donna Morgan and her daughter Evelyn stayed at the Nest home all the next day. I was really beginning to wonder if things weren't "right" at her own home. The Morgans had recently invited the Nests to a party, but I hadn't seen anything to suggest trouble.

But still, something was wrong. I just knew it. (Maybe that's because something is always wrong with sims!)

I used NRaas to check Donna's status. It said she had 3 children and was married to David. I checked David's status and it said he had 4 children! ...Well now, time to do a little digging. I went online to SimsWikia and found some interesting info.

From Donna's bio:

Donna can’t bring herself to admit to seeing David and Samantha Cassat’s flirty exchanges so instead she occupies herself with her loving children.

Samantha! She's a friend of Donna's! From Samantha's bio, I read:

Samantha is a temptress who can get any man she wants. Recently, she found herself pregnant with her neighbor and co-worker, David Morgan, a married man, and thinks that his wife, Donna, has no suspicion of the case.

Well, Samantha is in for a big shock! The All Knowing is about to give her life, David's and Donna's a sharp spin on the Wheel of Fate!  Little Evelyn's future is looking brighter already.

You see, I knew of another man in town who I thought just might be the true love of Donna's life: Olivier "Daddy" Harbucks. Wealthy, single, and available. He also has a lot in common with Donna: both are Pisces, Good, Family-Oriented, and have LT Wishes to be Surrounded by Family.

This is where Olivier lives with his adopted daughter, Shirley Templeton. Lots of room for a large family, right?

So, now I just needed to figure out how to make this happen with inactive sims. I needed a hero! And who better than Elliot.

Donna: Elliot, I hope I can trust you; I don't know where else to turn. I think my husband David is having an affair, but just don't know! Do you think you could find something out for me? I can't go on like this!
Elliot: I'll see what I can dig up, Donna, but you may not be happy with what I find out.
Donna: I know. But I don't want to be a fool! I need the truth.

He shared Donna's concern with Anabel and asked if she'd watch Evelyn for a while.
Anabel: Of course. Whatever I can do to help Donna. She really seems upset!

Elliot and Donna went into the office and talked in private, away from the children. Elliot took down all the info Donna could give him.

While Donna waited, Elliot did some research online. Yes, there was some truth to the rumors Donna had been hearing. He even found a birth record of a little girl born to a co-worker of David's. The father's name was not given, but trait and genetic data pointed right to Morgan.

That night, Elliot, Anabel, and Donna went to another party. This time at May West's. Elliot asked a man he trusted, Henry Simovitch, a few subtle questions. If anyone knew the truth, it would be this Genius.

Elliot's suspicions were confirmed. David Morgan and Samantha Cassat had an affair at the same time David's wife was pregnant! Things had cooled down since then, but David was still friendly with Samantha and their child.

Elliot found David Morgan upstairs and introduced himself. Then he got right to the point.
Elliot: Morgan, your wife and daughter spent the night at our house. She was there all day today too. What's going on in your family?
David: What concern is this of yours, Nest?
Elliot: Maybe you didn't hear me. I said your wife has been staying at our place. Your young daughter slept in my son's crib and ate in my son's high chair. Her mother slept in a rocking chair. What part of this picture do you think is NOT my business?

David: I can't control what my wife does!
Elliot: From what I hear, you can't control what you do either.
David: I don't answer to you, Nest! Stay out of this.
Elliot: I'm just letting you know, Morgan. It's all over for you.
David: Are you threatening me?
Elliot: Yes. Yes, I believe I am. Good night. Enjoy it while you can.

The next day, Elliot's (and my) plan was set in motion.

The home of Samantha the Temptress (aka the Tramp) was located across the street from the Morgans'. The little girl was there alone, without toys, crib, or anything else to care for her. That would never do!

For the child's sake, I moved Samantha and her daughter in with David. At least the little girl would then have a crib and other toddler items.

First though, I moved Donna, the three Morgan children, and Sheba their Little Dog over to the Harbucks' home. I made sure there was furniture for Evelyn and items for Sheba. And I immediately used NRaas to have Donna divorce David and become Best Friends with Olivier Harbucks.

The new family members were very happy with the Harbucks' mansion. They spent some time exploring. I made sure Donna had no negative moodlets from the divorce.

Donna got a text from her ex-husband right away. She didn't answer. He was red-barred in her relationship panel!

I also made sure David and Samantha both had a few well-deserved moodlets. David's mood was Depressed. He was suffering from Dumped by Text, Heart Broken, Humiliated, Rejected, and because I found out Donna was a witch...Toadified!

I kept checking on everyone to see how things were playing out. David left work, got "A Bit Juiced," and wandered around town trying to raise his mood meter. I saw that he texted a few other sims, but no one responded.

By the end of the day, he'd gone from Depressed to Sad. Good for him.

Samantha was also missing work, getting A Bit Juiced, and trying to raise her spirits by rowing across town to the Mermaid Resort. I guess she couldn't face David at home either. Too bad.

Samantha was in a stressed mood from having Lost a Friend (now red-barred with Donna), as well as being Humiliated, Strained, Stressed Out, and Germy! (I gave her a cold.)

Wonder if she'll ever feel up to offering David a Toad Kiss to cure him? Both she and David are Great Kissers. Nice foundation for a relationship. Samantha also is Flirty and has Commitment Issues. Good luck to them. They're on their own.

But what about Donna and Olivier? How were they doing? I found them at the diner together.

And they were flirting with each other! I was amazed at how quickly they had moved on to this.

Donna admitted to Olivier that she was a witch.

He didn't seem to mind at all.

Ah, yes. I love it when a plan comes together!
