I checked the gnome list on Sims Wikia and realized the only gnome I hadn't seen in game was the Gnome of the Darned. I was determined to get one while it was still on my mind. I also wanted to have one of my fairy sims cheat the claw machine. I had a fairy couple in Dragon Valley, and that was where I started.
Unfortunately I didn't find any claw machines already in my DV game. So I fixed up the Dragon Tavern and added one there. I hadn't done a thing to that place, and renovation took some time.
This is the Dragon Tavern. I designated it a hangout, but I added a pro bar too.
The only things I did to the outside was add lighting, cattails around the well, and a small rock stereo.
I removed some of the tables so I could put in a karaoke player. I also changed the bathrooms in order to fit in more arcade and gambling machines. Also added a toy box and pet bowl.
I took out some extra bookcases and chairs to open up more space.
Then before sunrise, I woke up the family and sent them off to the new Dragon Tavern: Crysie, Sol, and their dog Charlotte. (Charlotte was created by Charlottesmom to honor her RL dog.)
While one fairy worked the claw machine, the other tested out other activities. Charlotte followed each one around. I also put down a chew toy for her.
Getting the Ghosts Gnomes took all day! Crysie and Sol won lots of teddy bears of various types ...
And cut gems (which looked like ore in the machine) ...
All kinds of toys, which I donated to the Tavern's toybox--after all, my fairies were cheating the machine and winning big at gambling.
Money bags! I did have Sol and Crysie play the usual way once in a while because I was having no luck getting those gnomes as of yet.
Then finally, Crysie pulled out a Gnome of the Darned!!
Soon after, Sol got one too.
In fact, Sol won two gnomes.
It was around midnight by then, and everyone was tired, so we called it a day. But we came home richer and carrying three Gnomes of the Darned. They were all the same color though. I named them Deadhead, Dastard, and Dodo. Now we'll see what they actually do for us.
We also took home a new baby dragon who Crysie named Perp. ... But that's another story.
