The Renaissance: Arts and Science
For the 3rd challenge, the men met at the Old Tome Library. I looked at each guy's skills in the arts and science category. Fishing, cooking, and gardening didn't count because those skills were being used for the ghost challenge. Instead, I checked instrument skills, painting, handiness, inventing, logic, sculpting, glass blowing, writing, alchemy.
Whichever of these skills they were highest in would be the skill they would try to raise in a 6 hour time period. They would get 10 tourney pts for every skill pt in total they had at the finish of the round. Partial points would be rounded to the nearest whole point. So, for example, 3/4 of the way to level 4 would become 40 points for the tourney, 1/4 past level 3 would count as 30 points.
Jeremy's highest Renaissance skill was in Handiness. He has the Handy trait and had been getting wishes to use it. Dromio had already upgraded everything in the castle, so this was a perfect time for Jeremy to try his skill.
Daryl and Trevor's highest arts or science skills were in Logic. I sat them down to games of chess. They were closely matched, but the winner didn't matter, only the resulting skill levels.
Steven had been doing a lot of sketching in his spare time, so I put him in front of an easel with Painting as his Renaissance choice.
Chris was another high Logic man, so he was set to work on discovering potions at the chemistry table.
Bradley's highest Renaissance skills were tied with Handiness and Sculpting, but he has the Savvy Sculptor trait, so I chose Sculpting for him. He'd been getting wishes to do more sculpting.
No surprise that the two Virtuosos had instruments as their high arts or science skills: Guy on guitar and Aaron on base. These boys really enjoyed this round of the tournament.
Bradley finished sculpting a trash can, then went on to work on a second piece.
The musicians just kept jamming while Daryl and Trevor played two or three more games of chess.
Jeremy finished upgrading one sink and started working on another, which didn't get completed by the end of the round. Steven didn't quite finish his painting by the end of the round, and Bradley hadn't finished his second sculpture either.
Chris discovered a potion, but blew himself up 20 sim minutes before the end of the round. I let him listen to a Logic TabCast for the last few minutes while he cleaned up in the all-in-one shower. I then called Time on the 6th Hour and looked at the final skill levels.
Point results for the Renaissance Arts and Science round:
Aaron: 60
Daryl: 50
Guy: 50
Jeremy: 50

The Gentlemanly Games
After some rest and a meal, the tournament continued with the 4th round: Strategy Games. The men each competed in 2 games of pool and 2 games of dominoes. The winners of these games received 10 points for a win, no points for a lose.
Even though they had fun and socialized during the games, tempers varied. The pressure was high.
The results for the Strategy Games round were pretty even. Everyone earned 10 pits except Daryl (2 domino wins for 20 pts) and Steven (no wins for 0 pts).
Final results after day two of the Tournament.
Guy: 235
Jeremy: 200
Aaron: 195
Chris: 190
Trevor: 175
Daryl: 120
Steven: 105
Bradley: 75
Coach Dromio took care of the men after they returned to the castle.
Then prep began for the 5th challenge, which would be martial arts sparring. I needed to get all the guys' Sim Fu skills to at least level 1. Bradley was the only one with the MA skill.
There will also be an additional archery match because the first scores for archery were so widely varied. The guys have been practicing and the final match will be with the Challenge shot (fire arrow).
