04-08. Repercussions

First, two random screenshots.

I found Chris alone at the house. His mood was very low. He felt betrayed, he hadn't eaten, and his social bar was also down. I felt so sorry for him, despite his getting involved with Charlotte. I told him to get something to eat; then Grizelda came home and he chatted with her.

Repercussions

I wanted to dig a little deeper into Charlotte and Chris' affair. I knew the dislike covered a Romantic Interest relationship because of Chris' cheating stats. So I had the two talk things over, just on a friendly basis. I also saw "Confess to Cheating" options for both of them--to admit to each other and to their partners--but I wasn't ready for consequences just yet.
Sure enough, the second Chris and Charlotte's relationship bar crossed from red to green, the truth was revealed! They were still Romantic Interests under that dislike, and Chris had been Naughty, just like I suspected.
I wasn't going to have them confess to their original partners though because that would break the hearts of the "innocent." Probably not the right move in RL, but the Sims system is wonky. Whoever does the breaking up suffers no bad moodlets while the person getting the bad news suffers. I really hate this part of cheating. Someone always gets hurt, no matter what you do.

So, I had the loyal two break up with their cheating partners. The cheaters deserved the bad moodlets, not the faithful ones. Chris and Sophia's breakup was tough. Chris is Excitable and takes everything to heart! They became immediate exes.
But I still had to change the ex-boyfriend/girlfriend status to Just Be Friends. After much roller-coaster emotional dialog, Chris and Sophia were no longer romantically involved. They were at Acquaintance level. The good news is that Chris lost his Naughty reputation even though he still has the cheating stats. But he was still heartbroken. Sorry, Chris. Too late for regrets now.
Sophia and Jeremy's breakup wasn't quite so tragic. Jeremy delivered the bad news. They were finished! Charlotte also became heartbroken.
It was easy to get the two to become friends instead of exes though. But when Sophia asked Jeremy what others were saying about her, he told her that she had a reputation for being a Cheater. No change there.
Jeremy and Charlotte ended up as Good Friends after their conversation was done. But Charlotte still had the two-day Heart Broken moodlet. She would miss Jeremy.
Jeremy and Sophia were free and clear. They were also Best Friends with each other, so they shared feelings about their partners' affair.
And it didn't take time much to change support into romance. Jeremy and Sophia are full green-bar Romantic Interests now.
Jeremy and Sophia haven't done anything but kiss so far, but they are sharing a bed.
As for Charlotte and Chris. They have two days of remorse and pain.
They won't be open to any real romantic involvement during this grieving process. But time heals all wounds.
Trevor and Grizelda continue with their happy relationship (knock on wood).
They were also the first to try out the sauna for woohoo.
And you probably noticed I'd given the three lady Lightkeepers new dresses, hairstyles, and makeup
