01-06. Resort Visit and Other Progress

The need for sleep is one of the most difficult things for my challenge because I keep pushing Max. Summer is the best time for him to garden and he needs to keep up with that. I'm also concerned about his money situation. He only has 3 days left in the summer. Right now, he has close to 60,000 simoleons, so I think he'll be ok by end-game. He's making really good money at work, level 9. I think I'll have him stay in this job because, even though it limits his time, starting over again as self-employed would hurt his income.

Some highlights:
On his day off, Max checked into Buena Vista Resort and managed to accomplish his goals there. He invited a co-worker to the resort. They did a few things together, but she paid her own way.

Katrina Pala, his friend from work, joins Max in the dining room. Of course, sim-syle, they eat at different tables.

Max talked with a few of the resort employees, but the interactions are limited. He did what he could.

His boss keeps throwing parties. They're best friends now, but since he's level 9 at work, the stipulation to have a good relationship with the boss has been removed. Maybe he won't have to worry about impressing her anymore, just keep her as a friend.

At the last party he went to, his energy motive went into the red while chatting with Lala, and the game sent him home in a limo.

Max is doing well with his Charisma level and his friends. He also saved up points to get the Long Distance Friends reward. He's had a couple of outings with others. Went to the festival grounds. Has managed to make several friends and has almost finished his personal goal to get to know and befriend some sims with certain careers or skills. Still needs to put in a lot more hours in community service.

I haven't had another problem with zombies on the home lot. As long as Max crashes at the library on full moon nights, the zombies do not bother to show up at home.

I also noticed something else. Since Maxwell has been so busy, he hasn't flirted with anyone, just focused on friendly and funny interactions. I have seen a lot more instances of same-gender flirtations in this game than I usually see. I'm thinking it's because Max hasn't "declared" himself yet.

The little Bridgeport Beat lot continues to attract sims of all kinds. During the colder days, I'm going to have Max do some tutoring here as community service because teens and kids both come here often.

Max visited the graveyard to check out the pond for deathfish. He's not quite ready to get one yet, but he can see it in the water around midnight. He explored the catacombs while there and came up empty-handed.  He did meet Lala's deceased mother, Tatiana, who died as a YA from starving. Amazingly, they hit it right off and they are now friends; though this will reset when she goes back into the grave. But could this be a good future romance for Max? I like her and approve ... and Maxwell never seems to do things the easy way!
