When Rexel arrived in France, he checked out the adventure board and found a request to locate a missing "treasure" for a local. The item had been lost at a Celtic burial mound. Rexel bought a few supplies, including a Kenspa, and rode out to the standing stones site.
Seeing Rexel with a pickax in his hand brought back memories from mining ore in Skyrim.
Rexel was thinking about ghost hunting as he climbed down into the tomb. Was he remembering fighting the undead in Skyrim? Or did he sense a ghost nearby?
Every once in a while, Rexel would stop and do his Disciplined pose. He looked like he was guarding the passages into the crypt. "None shall pass!"
Sticking his hand into hidden cavities in walls and floors never bothered him. He never squealed or cringed once. If bugs latched onto him, he just calmly brushed them off.
This tomb had an amazing hedge maze with hidden nooks and treasure caches!
By the time he'd looted several treasure troves, it was night, and he still hadn't found that missing item for the local who'd hired him. There would be more to explore the next day.
After much pushing, shoving, digging and investigating, Rexel finally made it into the last tomb chamber and found the missing treasure he had been sent to recover. It was time to report in.
But before he left the standing stones mound, Rexel checked out the area above ground. By chance, I happened to discover an option on the two gravestones outside that I'd never seen before. The selection instructed Rexel to "Appease ghost." Well, why not? After choosing the option, Rexel bent down and started talking to the dead sim buried inside the "Remains" grave.
Then a small hazy spirit appeared. I realized this must be an ability connected to Rexel's Ghost Hunting career. I've only had one other Ghost Hunter sim before Rexel, and I'd never tried this with her. Something new for me!
Rexel continued to talk with the spirit for a few minutes more. Then the ghost hovered close to Rexel as if to hug him. Moments later, it vanished back into the ground. A fun discovery for me!
There were a couple of excavation sites at the mound, and he dug up several valuable items before leaving.
Rexel returned the lost item to the quest giver, earned his reward, and later spent time at the town center market place. He sold off any relics he didn't want to keep and made lots of simoleons. This had been a lucrative trip! Rexel also learned the two French songs the locals sing.
To celebrate, Rexel visited the nectary and sampled various nectar blends. He bought another bottle to take home.
Rexel also introduced himself to more of the locals, enjoying the French custom of hugging and kissing cheeks.
Back at Base Camp, Rexel earned another Logic point by playing a game of chess with a fellow tourist. He took a quick nap and then was ready to travel back home.
