So far, I had spent some pleasant productive hours with the Lenard-Sylvan family. They were getting to know each other and settling in. I decided it was time they started working on their careers.
Pamela began gardening while Vince finished up his podcast and chess practice.
The cats were happy and occupied.
Vince left to begin sculpting at the library. He met Rexel there, and I had Rex teach him a French song.
Vince finished his first clay statue and gained two skill points in Sculpting.
That night, we had a burglar sneak up to the house. He didn't even get inside the door.
Everyone came running, including an alien out of nowhere!
There were no fights and no police officer. The criminal just took off across the snow.
The next day was the first day of Spring. (Except for Summer, my seasons are short.) Pamela sent a few friendly texts to her neighbors. I saw that Gort was excited to get his emoji message while visiting the cemetery.
Then he promptly dropped his phone on the brick walkway. When I switch to his household, I'll have to remember to check his phone, to see if he broke it!
Gort spent a while crying over the grave remains of anonymous sims. He enjoyed his bereavement very much.
And for the second time, I got a message that Idora was missing work. I checked the Gypsy Wagon and found out there was a routing issue. The horses on the lot had not been the problem. So I spent an hour or so fixing the Mystic Cemetery lot. I used Pamela to test the routing as she visited Idora nearby.
I ended up flipping the wagon around to face the back. It was the easiest way to make it work without building from the ground up. Pamela entered the Wagon to have her fortune told.
Her fortune was good for the most part--a positive moodlet. BUT there was a warning attached. I should have paid attention to the gypsy and kept Vince and Pamela home for a quiet evening alone together!
As the day ended, I saw Jillie doing Magician tricks for tips at the pool. A townie was enjoying the show.

While Rexel was out Ghost Hunting, Marion threw another party and invited Vince. They had become Best Friends by then, something I thought was safe. But no, it was a mistake! Pamela was upstairs talking to Jillie, and I suddenly saw an "upset" icon pop up in her queue.
So of course, I looked for Vince--and caught Marion blowing kisses and flirting with him.
He was total mush! He has the Hopeless Romantic trait and it certainly showed. He was hopeless, all right!
As Vince asked Marion to Watch the Stars, Pamela stood silent, her feelings truly hurt. My heart ached for her. Vince and Pam's relationship wasn't strong enough yet to withstand Marion's predatory flirting.
I do have most romance consequences turned off with my Caste Story Progression settings, so there wasn't an argument. In fact, Pamela just went outside and started cleaning Carma's hooves! Maybe she wanted to be alone.
Most of the guests were in the basement, so I sent both Pamela and Vince down to socialize with other neighbors.
Vince chatted with Torin.
And Pamela got to know Emily.
Then I had Pamela ask Vince to slow dance. Their relationship had taken a hit and they needed to work things out. That's when Marion got mean. She was angry at Pamela, and a nasty message appeared just when Pamela and Vince started dancing!
"I'm glad you're finally leaving, Pamela. Thanks for making my party lame." WTH, are you kidding me? Well, lady, you went too far with that snarky remark. And just as Marion crawled into bed and Pam and Vince left, I saved the game with the full intent to KILL Marion!
_____
And I almost did kill her. I even had a lightning bolt queued up. But for Rexel's sake, I changed my mind. Instead I "libido-mized" her! I cut out her Irresistible trait and gave her a more practical one instead: Photographer's Eye. I let her keep Good Kisser. Again, just for Rexel's sake!
And to be on the safe side, I also chased down Emily with NRaas and changed her Irresistible trait as well. She now has the Gatherer trait to help with her Alchemy career and LT Wish. She's still a Hopeless Romantic, and that should be enough for her.
I'm really tired of the havoc flirty-minded sims wreak! They're so much worse than Evil or Hot-Tempered sims because they cause trouble between other sims who were once close, not just between themselves and others. They break relationships that aren't even their own.
