I spent several hours building and house hunting today, but I had a few issues. First of all, I wanted a manor style house for Charlie's family home--not the smaller chalet he's in, but the main home, the one he isn't living in right now because of his traumatic past. Well, I found something I thought was cool, along the lines I wanted. Something old and a little dark without being too Gothic.

Polstuart is inspired by the ruins of Poltalloch House in Argyll, Scotland.
The Poltalloch manor is also where Col. Edward Donald Malcolm began breeding West Highland Terriers.

The Polstuart creator has made 3 versions of the home: 40x40, 50x50, and 60x60. I downloaded the 40x40 because I had the perfect lot in Mountain Lake where I wanted to put it, 45x50. I placed the house and worked on a few things in the yard to adjust the area to the new lot size. I worked a couple of hours with fences and shrubs and ...
THEN I noticed that the basement was flooded!
Apparently the ground water level was too high on that lot for a basement--about level with the lake. I searched online, and the only thing to do was move the house. I was so disappointed because I liked the location I'd chosen.
But luckily there were two other empty lots big enough to place the house. In fact, I could even use the larger version because these lots were 64x64. So I downloaded the 60x60 size. I changed the chimney pieces, replaced a few trees with smaller sizes, put flagstone down in the front courtyard, and added fish spawners. Otherwise, the home is just as I downloaded it.
