Relaxation.

Exercise.

Plenty of rest.

Tender loving care.

So one morning, I sent the two into the sea for some ocean swimming--good for mersims. But they both decided to swim on out to their Mermaid Island resort to play in the pool there.

No worries. They could have lunch at the buffet. But Anabel didn't follow my instruction to dine. Uh oh!

OMG! I hadn't realized how close she was to delivery. And they're on an island! Elliot was clueless at first about Anabel's labor, and I wasn't sure what to do, but I told him to take Anabel to the hospital.
I figured they'd get on either their own boat or a taxi boat and head across to shore again. They could take their car from there.

But that's NOT what happened. As Elliot came running, Anabel jumped into the sea and grew her fins. Was she going to swim to shore and then get the car?

Just great! Elliot jumped in too, grew HIS fins, and swam after her...not for the nearest shore by their house. Oh, no! They turned to the right. Away from home.

Trying to catch up with Anabel, Elliot was almost ran over by a sailboat. This was just one of many times poor Elliot was thrown off course. He was in a state of shock the whole time Anabel was heading to the hospital.

Further down the peninsula, Elliot walks up the shore and heads for his car. Apparently, he was going to "meet up" with Anabel at the hospital. Anabel looked like she was coming out of the water too. Whew!!

But once again, Anabel had other plans. She didn't go ashore; she hopped back into the water and kept swimming.

And swimming...

And swimming! She is one determined lady!

In the meantime, Elliot has arrived at the hospital, wandered around in a daze, contemplated the hollowness of existence, and then decided to go back home. Then, as I'm keeping my eye on Anabel, afraid to interfere with her chosen path, a message pops up that Elliot has just improved his cooking skills to level 3.
What! Is he burning grilled cheese now? I quickly zoomed back to him and found him watching the cooking channel with Sono.

Well, he may not be worried about his wife, but I was! Anabel finally came ashore and got into her car. By this time, she'd reached level 9 in athletics and the sun was beginning to set.

Time to send Elliot back to the hospital for Anabel's sake--if I could get him to snap out of his stupor!

He was meditating on the meaning of life when Anabel showed up. Despite the long journey in full-blown labor, she appeared to be having a blast! Tough lady.
Elliot "kind of" woke up from his witless daze, and walked up to the hospital doors with Anabel. But she was only in the hospital for one second before the baby came! Elliot never made it through the doors.

Here is Merit. Anabel definitely deserves this little bundled reward! I gave him the Loves the Outdoors and Brave traits in honor of his unusual delivery!

And poor Elliot. Apparently he noticed the fixer-upper car in the parking lot and queued up "woohoo with Anabel" while she's walking out of the hospital. Well, you're in for a big disappointment, buddy!
Elliot threw a little fit when Anabel pulled the car back into her inventory and got in a taxi, but he managed to join her and Merit...still in a clueless trance.

Finally getting home, Merit told his parents that he'd had enough of all this! He was hungry and tired. Anabel fed and cuddled him, and headed upstairs to put him in his crib. Elliot now queued up "put baby on baby mat" and followed Anabel up.

But Elliot still wasn't fully aware of what all was happening because he went straight for the robo-bear instead of Merit. Really, Elliot? You can't tell the difference between a stuffed animal and your own son? I finally told him to go read the rest of "Totally Preggers" until he got himself sorted out!

And I sent Anabel to the rocking chair to have a nap. Time for robo-nanny to take over!

Sono is going to spoil Merit rotten!

And just to let you know what a triathlon swim/walk/ride Anabel took to the hospital, take a look at the maps here. She started at the resort island located at the bottom of this map and swam up through channels and under a bridge...

Continuing through waterways until she finally went ashore and drove to the hospital shown in the upper left of this map.
