01-01. A Home World University for Aurora Skies

I've been in Aurora Skies the last two days. I have a couple there that I want to get University degrees. Beth Engle already has 24 credits towards hers. Hank Barrett doesn't have any credits yet. But instead of sending them to the University subworld, I decided to try to make a university in Aurora Skies where they live. I'm just experimenting with the set up right now.

I installed Nraas Careers, and a college lot by lewisb40 at MTS (Home World University Lot). I also used rabbit hole replacement rugs. There are also UL rabbit hole replacement doors available.

Everything is working great. The lot is wonderful, and I made very little changes. I did add a small Student Union so I could test out the Event Lot Marker.

I recolored the rugs to match the room floors. Sims entered and exited without any issues.

Townies liked the lot too.

Unfortunately, so did this little gal. She ate two of the UL herb plants.

So, since I had the content, I moved the plants indoors to a horticultural room on top of the Science building.

I used Zipha as the initial guinea pig. She took the aptitude test and scored high in Technology and Science/Medicine, earning 12 credits toward her chosen degree of Science and Medicine. Zipha had been working as an Office Drone in the Medical career. In order to go to the U, she had to quit her job.

Here's the Administration room where Zipha enrolled.

Zipha enrolled for only 12 semester hrs and one term for this first experiment. She received her manual and skeleton.

Unfortunately, Zipha doesn't have many traits or skills to help her with her studies yet. She flunked two exams despite all her studying! But that may have been a mistake because she later pulled her grades up to A level. ??

She's diligent about going to classes. I also chose a townie to be another student to see how that would work. Karen (a new YA) rushes to her Technology classes in the Annex and the Science rooms.

Zipha hasn't had a lecture scheduled yet, so I don't know how that will work. I also installed a mod by taylorb1000 at MTS to add a university faculty career (Professor Career). I chose a townie for that role. He's suppose to work out of the Administration rabbit hole, but I don't know if he'll ever do any lecturing. I'll have to try that career with one of my active sims, probably Beth since she's a successful author. She can publish and not perish!

Zipha got a notice about a Meet and Greet, and the layout in my student union changed for it, but nothing happened otherwise and the mascot didn't show up. So that was kind of a bust...except for Hank doing a stake out on the SU roof.

Hank's level 8 in his Investigator career and just earned a new car. I'm anxious for him to get his degree soon. He keeps a messy office in their home basement and could sure use a little more credibility!
