The whole situation was crazy. Bunter's Brave trait didn't kick in, and Piers was an emotional mess! He woke up with his Unstable "out of sorts" moodlet again. The loud wails of the alarm siren were upsetting him. He was instantly thrown back into the War. Poor Piers just can't seem to catch a break!
Bunter: Hang on, m'lord. I'll call for law enforcement.
But before Bunter could complete the call, an officer showed up. He canceled the call.
Folding up his umbrella and stowing it in his back pocket, the officer grabbed onto the burglar who was politely waiting to be beat up. Bunter cheered and Piers moaned.
With the officer victorious and the burglar apprehended, they once again became aware of the hail. The policeman did the Hail Dance while the thief whipped out his umbrella...despite being in handcuffs.
And off they went...slowly...around the back of the barn to the street in front of the house. (I don't know why sims don't take the obvious, shorter route!)
And like all polite submissive burglars, the robber stayed right by the car as instructed, waiting for the officer to search around the lot. During all of this, Piers had gotten a wish to go to the hospital for treatment. But I think his deep breathing exercises helped him before a more severe episode took over. He went back into the house to finish his breakfast.
The cop's search took forever! Talk about police brutality. The burglar was doing the Hail Dance for hours! The robbery started around 6:00 am and by the time the cop left, it was 2:00 in the afternoon.
Finally, the officer found Bunter and informed him that all was well. Then he wanted to chat about steak and tofu. Remembering His Lordship's directive to get friendly with the town folk, Bunter schmoozed his way through the conversation.
While we all waited for the cop to amble back around the barn with his umbrella and take off with the hail-beaten thief, Bunter sketched a few plans for the theater on the whiteboard, then practiced soccer.
Piers worked out his stress by doing cardio exercises while the pups howled along.
And Hera, who had long since returned home, left again for some shopping. (I couldn't save the game until the burglary was completely over, so I didn't attempt any major activities.)
As evening approached, attention turned to the pups. I felt it was time to age them up.
